What is the usage of the Backup e-Cert Floppy
Disk /e-Cert File Card?
For
security reasons, the embedded e-Cert cannot
be retrieved from the smart card. The cardholder
will not be ale to recover the e-cert including
the private key in case the card is lost
or damaged. As such, Hongkong Post will
offer to the cardholder an option to have
a backup copy of his e-Cert and private
key embedded on the smart ID card on a floppy
disk or a e-Cert
File Card at the time he submits an
e-Cert application. The backup e-Cert floppy
disk / e-Cert
File Card will be delivered to your
address by Recorded delivery service. |
