With effect from 31 March 2010, Hongkong Post Certification Authority has terminated
all Registration Authority ("RA") for Bank-Cert operation and ceases to issue new Bank-Cert.
The information in this web page provides information for the previously issued
Bank-Cert (Corporate). For more details, please refer to the corresponding
Bank-Cert Certification Practice Statement.
Hongkong Post Bank-Cert (Corporate) certificates are issued to organisations
that hold a valid business registration certificate issued by the Government
of the Hong Kong SAR and statutory bodies of Hong Kong whose existence is
recognized by the laws of Hong Kong (a "Subscriber Organisation"); and identifies a Subscriber Organisation's member or employee (an "Authorised Users") who has been duly authorised to use that Bank-Cert (Corporate) certificate.
The Subscriber Organisations are customers of the banks acting as Registration
Authority ("RA"). These certificates are available at the cost of HK$120 per certificate (although
first time applicants will only be asked to pay HK$20 per certificate) for
one year and may be used to perform Internet banking services and other commercial
operations.
A Bank-Cert (Corporate) certificate contains the following information:-
- RA's Name;
- Subscriber's name as it appears on the applicant's Hong Kong identity card/passport;
- Subscriber Organisation name;
- Subscriber Organisation registration number;
- Branch name or department name of the organisation;
- E-mail address; and
- A unique Subscriber Reference Number.
