Hongkong Post, Entrust and Infomaster Join Hands to Introduce Mobile Certification
Services
Memorandum
of Understanding Enables Hongkong Post to
Offer Businesses and Individuals the Ability
to Conduct e-Business Transactions Via Wireless
Devices
Hong
Kong and Plano, December 15, 2000 -
At a press conference today (15 December), Hongkong Post, Entrust Technologies
Inc (Nasdaq: ENTU) and Infomaster Holdings Limited
signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the
provision of mobile certification services to
the people of Hong Kong.
Under the terms of the MOU, Hongkong Post, being the only recognised Certification
Authority (CA) in Hong Kong, will provide a defined
set of PKI-based service offerings to banks,
carriers and other businesses who need to issue
WAP server certificates and client-side certificates
to mobile phones. Infomaster is to provide system
integration, customization, development and consultation
services to organizations connecting to Hongkong
Post CA.

The mobile certification services offered by Hongkong Post will enable individuals
and businesses to conduct secure mobile transactions
such as online payments via mobile phones through
a combination of authenticated logon, digital
signatures, profile management and digital notarization.

Working with Entrust Technologies and Infomaster Holdings Limited, Hongkong Post
will implement the industry-leading PKI infrastructure
for trusted mobile commerce.
